Why is my touchpad so hard to use?
The CF-30 is equipped with a resistive touchpad. It is designed to be more rugged and last longer than a capacitive touchpad. Applying pressure and keeping your finger on the pad longer while you move your pointer will help with speed. Pointer speed can also be adjusted under mouse properties in the Control Panel.

As the above technologies are all different, Panasonic would not be able to ensure compatibility between them. Panasonic Toughbook laptops with Gobi will support HSUPA. Panasonic will evaluate other new technologies as the cellular technology and module vendors announce their commercial availability.
Will Gobi customers experience faster speeds or any other benefits beyond carrier selection flexibility?
Gobi will support the latest performance level of each carrier. At this moment, it is EV-DO Rev. A for Sprint and Verizon Wireless and HSPA 3.6 for AT&T. Gobi will also support HSPA 7.2 if and when AT&T's network is upgraded to 7.2.
I am confused by certification dates, launch dates - very simply when can I order and receive units with Gobi?
Launch date is the date you can order. Commercial Availability is the date we can deliver units with Gobi.
Will the first version of the Gobi chip set currently being installed in 19's and 30's last forever or at least 3 years?
The life cycle of Gobi will be determined by Qualcomm. That said, Gobi will be supported by Panasonic according to the standard Toughbook warranty and spare parts policy. According to Qualcomm, there will be future Gobi modules to accommodate enhancements in the carriers' networks.
If I do not want a Gobi chip - are there alternatives?
It is Panasonic's plan to embed Gobi modules into all new models. Panasonic is not planning for an alternate module.
Please explain why launch dates vary between carriers?
Each carrier uses a different process to test embedded laptops. Even when Panasonic submits the test units to all three carriers on the same day, most likely the technical acceptance dates for each carrier will be different.
Can I use Gobi to switch to another carrier even if I don't have a contract yet with that carrier?
The CSA will load the carrier image of another carrier even if you don't have a contract. When you initiate the new connection manager, it will ask you to set up an account in order to be connected to the network.
